In 1901, Milwaukee introduced itself to the world with an illustration on the cover of The Book of Milwaukee. A lush, allegorical woman draped in gold. Beneath her, a single boast: "Feeds and Supplies the World." No one recorded who painted her. A dozen local lithography houses could have done it. The image, and the mystery, outlived them all.
For The Swingin' Door, we brought her home. The palm frond in her arm traded for a sheaf of wheat to represent what actually built this city and fills this menu. The globe still glows over Milwaukee. The trains still run. Only the name above her has changed.
Feeds and Supplies the World. A claim made new: this house, this door, still doing exactly what the original said a century later.
Printed on a premium tri-blend tee with a soft, vintage feel that only gets better with wear.
